Naturopathic Medical, PC, has adopted a fee-for-service business model which means that we do not accept insurance nor do we allow payment arrangements. However credit cards, debit cards, cash, and health savings account (HSA) cards are all acceptable forms of payment at our office. We have found that this business model allows us to keep costs substantially lower than a conventional medical office visit, resulting in lower prices on laboratory testing, office visits, supplements, and all of our other procedures and products. Sometimes claims submitted by you, the patient, can get out-of-network reimbursement rates or can even be applied toward your insurance deductible so we let you do the footwork. Our staff is happy to teach you how to do this so please feel free to ask us.

In January 2017, Time Magazine released an informative article accurately describing this same fee-for-service business model. To read the full article, click here.

Sometimes called direct pay, and closely related to concierge care, this sort of business model was once seen as the perquisite of rich folks and medical tourists from foreign lands. But nowadays many of the people seeking cash-based care are middle-class Americans with high-deductible insurance plans...Cash payments don’t count toward a patient’s deductible, but for some it’s worth the gamble.
